Baby mixing up day and night?
If your little one keeps mixing up day and night, try these tips:
Activities For A 1 Month Old Baby
It is a misconception that a newborn baby is not able to understand, react to or follow much human interaction. A 1 month old baby can do a surprising number of things such as focus on faces, giggle, react to sounds, and lights including moving their heads and suckle!
Talk to them: They may not be able to understand a word of what they are hearing, but be as silly and lovable to your baby as possible, and talk to them in a soft, comforting voice. This will allow them to focus on your face, and maintain eye contact with them.
Make faces: This is something we have all done at least once in our lives, from our little siblings, to little nieces and nephews. This helps in building a parent bond with your baby, making their favorite silly expressions will make them smile and you will learn a lot about your newborn.
Belly time: Provide your baby with ample supervised tummy time during the day so that they can practice lifting their cute head as it prevents flattening of head which is common in babies as they spend all day and night lying on their backs.
These activities will help your baby immensely as they slowly get accustomed to the world, getting bigger and stronger with each passing day.
1 month old baby’s health
Increase breast milk supply: New mothers often worry about not producing enough breast milk. Diet of the mother is an important aspect, as it not only impacts the amount and quality of breast milk produced, but also impacts the post-delivery recovery of the mother. Eating nutritious food throughout the day is the best way to ensure a healthy milk supply for your baby.
Spitting-up baby: Spitting up refers to the fact that the contents of the baby's stomach can easily flow out of the mouth, possibly with a burp. Don’t be alarmed if the baby is spitting up a lot. What looks like her entire lunch is probably no more than a tablespoon of milk. Things should calm down in a month or two. There is no definite way to spit milk, but you can surely work on reducing the frequency.
Soothe a crying baby: Having an easy baby who coos and smiles on cue and cries is a myth. Reality usually is far away from this particular fantasy. After feeding and diapering duties throughout the day, soothing your fussy baby can seem like it takes up the bulk of your day and sometimes even nights because kicking up a fuss is the only communication skill a newborn knows.
Lastly, every baby has a unique body type and it would be safe to say that they all progress at a different pace. Give your little one a break and help him achieve his milestones without any judgment or expectations, we’re sure things will work out in the end.
]]>As fussy as kids are, it's not always easy to feed your little ones nutritious food hence, you need to be a little creative to get them to eat food that is good for their health. According to various health organisations data, babies should not be given any salt until six months of age. Their sodium needs are met by the salt contained in breast milk. Moreover, 6 months to 1 year old babies should be given no more than 1 gram of salt per day, which contains 0.4 grams of sodium.

A baby has never tasted salt and will therefore not feel that the food is bland. Moreover, food can be made flavourful without the addition of salt by adding spices such as cumin powder, cinnamon, and herbs like coriander and mint that can flavour the food and enhance the taste. Herbs must be thoroughly washed and finely chopped before introducing into the baby’s diet only after seven months of age. Spices should also be added in minute quantities, and new foods should be introduced slowly to avoid any allergic reactions.
Naturally sweet substances can be used as sugar substitutes which includes any fruit puree, date syrup, and honey. However, date syrup and honey should not be given to babies below 1year of age as it could lead to choking.
You can start introducing salt to your baby only after one year of age or can limit it to less than 1 gram per day for babies older than six months. But giving sugar to infants less than one year of age is a big NO. Baby foods do not require added sugars instead you can always go for natural sugar substitutes like fruit puree, date syrup or honey.
Salt and sugar can do more harm than good for babies, it is better to avoid them at least until the baby turns one. Processed foods contain high amounts of salt and hence, should be avoided. Always check ingredients before buying commercial baby foods because they may also contain added sugars. Try to provide your kid with healthy homemade food without added salt or sugar.

You can take some of the clothes off if it gets warm.
4. STICK TO THE VACCINATION SCHEDULE- As it’s rightfully said ‘Precaution is better than cure’ being up-to-date with all the vaccinations of your little one will keep him healthy in future. If your baby is having trouble sleeping we’ve got an idea which might seem crazy to new parents, but will do the trick. It is known that putting the baby to bed in a burrito-style wrap also known as swaddling makes them feel secure, like being back in their mom’s warm and comfy belly. It is an ancient trick of wrapping newborns in a thin blanket or cloth which serves the all-important purpose of helping your sweet pea stay calm and sleep more soundly and longer .
Benefits of Swaddling
How to Swaddle like a pro, Step by Step
In order to perfectly swaddle your baby to make them sleep longer and more soundly, here are few steps to get your swaddling skills up the notch:
Step 1: Find a flat surface.
Spread your baby’s swaddle wrap in the shape of a diamond with one corner pointing up on a flat surface (like the middle of your bed). Baby’s head should be above the folded edge of the blanket, and her body should extend straight down toward the bottom corner.
Step 2: Straighten your baby’s right arm.
Take the left side of the blanket and wrap it over her left arm and chest. Tuck the blanket underneath them covering your baby’s left arm but the right arm will be free. It should be snug, but not overly tight.
Step 3: Bring up the bottom.
Fold the bottom corner of the blanket up over your baby’s body and tuck it under the first fold. It’s time to straighten your baby’s right arm too and pull the right side of the blanket over your baby’s body and tuck it on the left side. Now take the bottom corner and tuck that corner behind their right shoulder.
Step 4: Secure the blanket.
Lightly twist the bottom of the blanket and tuck it underneath your baby. Double-check to make sure the swaddle is nice and secure but also not over-tight.

HOW TO SWADDLE A BABY 5 DIFFERENT WAYS
Is Swaddling safe?
It’s true that swaddling isn’t entirely risk-free but it is proven that it can encourage your newborn to sleep better as long as it’s done correctly and practiced considering safe sleeping guidelines.
Swaddle blankets need not to be too loose, that can get unwrapped during sleep and could cover a baby’s face creating potential for suffocation or too snug, especially around your baby’s hips.
To encourage healthy hip development, the bottom of the swaddle should be loose enough for your baby’s legs to move naturally. Swaddling your baby the right way will encourage them to sleep more soundly which will also give you peace of mind. Here are few important swaddling safety tips:

The story is about a fox who was walking through the forest and spotted a bunch of grapes hanging from over a lofty branch. He got really happy and thought that it’s just the right thing to quench his thirst.
He took a few steps back, and jumped but still missed the hanging grapes. Again the fox took a few paces back and tried to reach them but couldn’t reach.
Finally, giving up, the fox turned up his nose and said - They're probably sour anyway
And proceeded to walk away...
Moral of the story-
It's easy to despise what you cannot have. Nothing comes easy without hard work and we pretend to hate something when we can’t have it until and unless we work hard and reach our goals.
The story revolves around a carefree boy who lived with his father. Every day, he used to take the sheeps to the grassy fields and watch them as they grazed. But he was unhappy and didn’t want to take the sheep to the fields because he wanted to play, and not spend his time watching the boring sheep graze in the field. So, one day he decided to have some fun. He cried, “Wolf! Wolf!” until the entire village came running with stones to chase away the wolf before it could harm the boy or eat any of the sheep. When the villagers came there and saw that there was no wolf, they got really angry about how the boy had wasted their time. The next day, the boy shouted once again and, again, the villagers rushed there to help him chase the wolf away.
The boy laughed at the fright he had caused. The third day, as he went up the hill, he suddenly saw a wolf attacking his sheep. He cried for help as hard as he could, “Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!”, but not a single villager came to help him as they thought that he was trying to fool them again. The little boy lost many sheeps that day, all because of his foolishness.
Moral of the Story
It is difficult to trust people who lie, so it’s important to always be truthful.
The story is about an old man who lived with his three sons in a village who were hard workers but still, they quarrelled all the time. The old man tried a lot to unite them but he failed.
As the old man fell sick. He told his sons to stay united, but they didn’t listen to him. So, he decided to teach them a practical lesson. He called his sons and told them that he will give a bundle of 10 sticks to each one of them. They have to separate each stick and break each stick into two. The one who breaks the sticks quickly will be rewarded more.” All of them agreed to it.
The old man gave a bundle of 10 sticks to each of them and asked them to break each stick into pieces. They broke the sticks into pieces in minutes. Then he gave another bundle of sticks to each of them and asked them to break the sticks as a bundle, not as separate sticks.
Though they tried their best, they could not break the bundle and failed to complete the task.
They reported their failure to their father.
To which the old man replied, “Dear sons, You could easily break the single sticks into pieces, but you were not able to break the bundle which means, if you stay united, nobody can do any harm to you but if you quarrel every time with each other, anyone can easily defeat you.” The three sons understood the power of unity and promised their father that whatever be the situation, they would all stay together.
Moral of the Story
There is strength in unity.
Once upon a time, a woodcutter was working hard in the forest, getting wood to sell for some food. As he was cutting a tree, his axe accidentally fell into the river which was deep and was flowing really fast. He lost his axe and could not find it again. He sat at the bank of the river and began to weep.
While he wept, the God of the river arose and asked him what happened. The woodcutter told him the story. The God of the river offered to help him by looking for his axe by disappearing into the river and retrieving a golden axe, but the woodcutter said it was not his axe. He disappeared again and came back with a silver axe, but the woodcutter denied again. The God disappeared into the water again and came back with an iron axe to which he smiled and said it was his axe . The God was impressed with the woodcutter’s honesty and gifted him both the golden and silver axes as a reward for his honesty.
Moral of the Story
The moral of the story is to always be honest because honesty is the best policy.
Once upon a time, a lion was sleeping in the jungle when a mouse started running up and down his body for fun which disturbed the lion’s sleep, and he woke up quite angry. He was about to eat the mouse when the mouse desperately requested the lion to set him free. He promised to help him someday if the lion decided to let him go. The lion laughed at the mouse’s confidence and let him go.
Few days later, a few hunters came into the forest and tied the lion up against a tree. The lion was struggling to get out and started to whimper. Soon, the mouse walked past and noticed the lion in trouble. Quickly, he ran and gnawed on the ropes to set the lion free. Both of them sped off into the jungle.
A small act of kindness can go a long way.

It is safer to gather all the supplies beforehand because you should never take your hands off your baby while you're bathing them. Here's a checklist of newborn sponge bath:
Before the actual bathtime- Grab all the supplies before you bring your baby to the bathtub and never leave the baby unattended, not even for a second. Try to have all your supplies within arm’s reach so you don’t have to step away.

It may help ease your baby’s tummy troubles and calm them when they are being fussy, and soothe them to sleep. Baby massage also brings about real physical advantages such as:
Here are some techniques mentioned below to try on your little one :
Head- Take some oil and pat it on your baby’s head. Don’t forget to apply gentle strokes over your baby’s head. Move your fingertips in tiny circles on your baby’s head and do not apply pressure to it.
Face- Take some oil on fingers and tap your baby’s face from the forehead towards the chin and gently press the eyebrows. Gently stroke the baby's cheeks, chin and nose.
Tummy- Starting at the base of your baby’s rib cage, use your fingers to massage your baby’s tummy in circular motions and afterwards, fold your baby’s knees up to the tummy and apply gentle pressure. Try to hold this position for approximately 30 seconds, and repeat it a few times if needed. This helps in releasing gas.
Back- Make your baby lie on the tummy and by using both your hands, start the massage from the base of your baby’s neck to the buttocks, back and forth. Use your fingers to gently press your baby's spine in circular motions.
Keep these few things in mind before giving your baby a massage:
Smile, giggle or talk to your baby during the massage sessions or even sing or hum to your baby as engaging your baby in talks will keep them interested and happy.
Why the tears?- Reasons behind your crying baby:
Say no to tears- Ways to soothe your little one:
Spitting up refers to the fact that the contents of the baby's stomach can easily flow out of the mouth, possibly with a burp. Baby spitting up is a reality for new parents-it is so common that there are even special clothes for cleaning things up. But when your child seems to spit up often, it is understandable that spitting up suddenly becomes a concern.
Why it happens:
Newborns may spit up milk because the immature sphincter between the esophagus and the stomach allows food to flow backward, causing gastroesophageal reflux and because of the need to remove excess mucus and saliva. When milk mixes with air it results in a burp, or just because they've eaten too much.
How to reduce baby spit up:
There is no definite way to spit milk, but you can surely work on reducing the frequency. You may need to do some detective work to find out what causes the baby to spit up.
After breastfeeding, first try to hold the baby on their tummy at a 30-45 degree angle. This is usually a posture in which people hold their babies and burp. Supporting your baby on your shoulders in this position for 15 to 20 minutes after feeding will make a big difference in reducing your baby's spitting up. You can even try feeding your baby less at a time. If they seem hungry, you can compensate by feeding them more often. Finally, frequent burps during and after each meal can prevent air from building up in your baby's stomach.
Why you shouldn't worry:
Spitting up is harmless and it's more like a laundry problem than a medical problem. It is unlikely to interfere with the baby's feeding (it looks like a hearty meal may be just a tablespoon or something mixed with saliva and mucus... well).
