Night Suit for Women: How to Pick the Fabric, Fit and Size
A good night suit for women comes down to three choices: the fabric (cotton for warm, sweaty nights, satin or rayon if you want something light and smooth), the bottom (shorts for summer, a full pyjama for cooler nights and for wearing around the house), and a size you pick from the garment measurements, not your usual tag. Get those three right and you will wear it every night instead of leaving it in the drawer.
Here is how our own range lines up, so you can see the trade-offs in one place.
| Night suit style | Fabric | Best for | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oversized tee and shorts (19 styles) | Cotton, 180 GSM on 15 of the 19 | Hot nights, lounging, sleeping in a loose fit | ₹899 |
| Tee and shorts (8 styles) | Cotton blend | Everyday sleepwear on a budget | ₹799 |
| Button shirt and shorts (13 styles) | Satin, rayon or cotton blend, by print | A smoother, dressier feel; humid nights | ₹949 |
| Striped pyjama and tee (4 styles) | Satin/rayon | Full-length cover, cooler nights, around the house | ₹1,199 |
All prices are per set and the same across sizes. You can see every style in our nightwear sets.
Which fabric is best for a night suit?
It depends on how warm you sleep and how warm your room is. India has a lot of hot, humid nights, so the fabric question is really about sweat and airflow.
- Cotton absorbs sweat and stays matte against your skin. It is the safest pick if you sleep hot or don't have AC. Weight matters too: our oversized tee sets are 180 GSM cotton (grams per square metre), which is a regular tee weight rather than the thin, flimsy fabric some night tees use.
- Satin and rayon feel cool and smooth when you first put them on and drape loosely instead of clinging. They suit people who find cotton a little heavy. They do show creases, and they need gentler care.
- Cotton blend sits in between: a little less absorbent than cotton, and it is the most affordable of the three in our range.
One thing to look for on any product page, ours included: the fabric should be named plainly. If a listing only says "comfortable" and never says what the fabric is, ask before you buy.
Shorts or pyjama: which night suit should you pick?
Shorts sets are the summer choice and the most common night suit in our range: 40 of our 44 sets come with shorts. They are cooler, and most of the oversized tee versions have a drawstring waist on the shorts, so you can tighten them rather than relying on elastic alone.
A full pyjama makes more sense when you want cover: cooler nights from October onwards, a room with strong AC, or a house where you answer the door and meet family in what you slept in. Right now our full-length option is the striped pyjama and tee set in satin/rayon, and two prints are in stock: Lemon Zest and Out of Office, both at ₹1,199. You can see the pyjama sets together in our women's pyjama sets.
If you want real warmth for a north Indian December, a cotton or satin night suit won't do it on its own. For that, our women's Fleece Co-ord Set is 360 GSM Fleece, from ₹1,499, made for the cold months.
How should a night suit fit?
Looser than your day clothes. You turn, pull your knees up and stretch in your sleep, and a top that is fine standing up can ride up and pull across the shoulders lying down. You want room across the bust and back, a top long enough to stay over the waistband, and a waist that holds without digging in.
Our oversized tee sets are cut wide on purpose. On the size chart, the top measures 43 inches around the bust in a Small and 48 inches in a 2XL, so measure a tee you already like lying flat and compare. The tops are 26 to 29 inches long, depending on size.
How do I choose my night suit size?
Measure, then compare to the garment chart. Here is the chart for our oversized tee and shorts sets:
| Size | Top: bust (in) | Top: length (in) | Shorts: waist (in) | Shorts: length (in) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 43 | 26 | 26 | 13 |
| M | 44 | 26 | 28 | 13.5 |
| L | 45 | 28 | 30 | 14 |
| XL | 47 | 29 | 32 | 14.5 |
| 2XL | 48 | 29 | 35 | 15.5 |
The chart allows about half an inch either way. Three tips that save an exchange:
- Size by your hips and waist if they are your larger measurement. An oversized top has room to spare; the shorts are where a set fits or doesn't.
- Between sizes? Go up for sleep. A slightly loose night suit is comfortable. A tight one gets pushed to the back of the drawer.
- Know the size range before you fall for a print. Our night suits run from S to 2XL, and three of the cotton blend shirt sets stop at XL. Each product page shows which sizes that print comes in.
If something still doesn't fit, you have 7 days from delivery to ask for a return or an exchange. One exchange is allowed per order, and a flat ₹100 reverse pickup fee is deducted from the refund, so it is worth taking the two minutes to measure first.
How do I make a night suit last?
Most night suits wear out from washing, not from sleeping. Wash them inside out in cold water with a mild detergent, skip the bleach, and don't iron directly over a print. Satin and rayon sets do best with a gentle wash and a reverse-side iron if you iron them at all. These are the care steps printed on our own product pages.
If you sleep hot, start with a cotton shorts set. If you want something smoother, go for a satin or rayon shirt set. If you want to stay covered, take the pyjama. You can see all of them in our women's short sets and full nightwear range.
